WHAT IS IKIGAI?

Ikigai is an old Japanese concept that has long been associated with the nation’s long life expectancy. Ikigai has no direct translation into English. It is about finding genuine joy in life through purpose. In essence, your ikigai is the reason you wake up in the morning that brings value, purpose and happiness to your life.

Patient Experiences

Amy is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in acupuncture, which has been transformative for me. I've experienced most, if not all of the services offered at Ikigai Wellness, like moxibustion, fire cupping, vibroacoustic therapy, and the private Infrared sauna (which is sooo relaxing - even in summer!), each has been impactful in my path to wellness. Erin's craniosacral therapy and Katie's massage therapy are also integral parts of my healing, and both therapists are exceptional. Everyone at Ikigai Wellness exudes kindness and genuine care. I consistently leave feeling rejuvenated and better than when I arrived. Highly recommend!

I came to Amy to have her treat my elbow and knee pain with Japanese acupuncture. From the moment I walked into Ikigai Wellness, I felt very welcomed and heard. The staff is amazing and answered all of my questions before my appointment. Amy took her time on my initial visit to understand my challenges and recommended specific treatments. She showed me all of the items she would be using, before we started, making me even more comfortable and confident in her abilities. I enjoy each visit and would highly recommend Ikigai Wellness. FYI, if you have aversions to needles, Amy can apply a non-needle version of acupuncture.

I had been incredibly sick for a really long time and Dr.'s were just giving me meds to help with symptoms but telling me that IIwould always struggle with my symptoms. There was nothing western medicine could do to help me. I was a wreck mentally and physically. Some days it was hard to get out of bed. Sleeping was the only thing that didn't feel horrible. I went to Ikigai feeling pretty skeptical and nervous. Amy listened to me. She was gentle and kind, and very thoughtful about treatment and my needle phobia. I've been going to her now for over a year and I feel the best I've felt in the last few years. I'm no longer having seasons of horrendous flare ups, nausea, or anxiety, and I haven't caught a cold almost a year (I normally get about 3 that take me out for at least a week). I look forward to every session. It's the best part of my month.
